Entropy is a two-player abstract strategic game designed by Eric Solomon in 1977. The game is sold commercially under the names Hyle (for a simplified version played on a 5×5 board) and Hyle7. The game is played on a square 7×7 grid of cells. One player (“Chaos”) draws coloured chips at random from a bag and places each one on the board in an empty space. The other player (“Order”) may slide any chip horizontally or vertically through any number of empty spaces, to rest in a previously empty space. The “Order” player is allowed to pass. When the grid is full, Order scores for any palindromic patterns of chip colours (e.g. “red–green–blue–green–red”) that have been formed horizontally or vertically.
Players Per Table – 2

This tournament will take place on Vint.ee so please sign up to use their platform and provide your Vint username when you register here. You will also need to register to the tournament on Vint which will be made available shortly before the tournament (link to be added to the bottom of this event listing). After that you should see black tick in front of your username.
The final spread in scores is converted to victory points using this spreadsheet:
Tournament Rules Touch move applies to both players. A piece is considered placed by Chaos once it is released. When a piece is drawn from the bag it is revealed to both players at the same time. Should Order run out of time the Chaos continues drawing and placing pieces but no moves are made. Should Chaos run out of time then Order draws and places new pieces, and can make a move after each placement. Should both players run out of time then the remaining pieces are placed randomly with no moves taking place.
