The Mind Sports Olympiad Crazyhouse Swiss tournament took place on Friday, August 13, 2021. Mr. Abhishek Chhallani finished the tournament with a perfect score of 9 wins out of 9 rounds. The tournament took place on PlayStrategy.org which is a new platform for modern abstract games that includes the latest cheating detection technology. PlayStrategy’s cheating detection was able to ascertain with certainty that Mr. Abhishek Chhallani used a computer to assist him in playing each move and play with no mistakes throughout the entire event. After concluding that Mr. Abhishek Chhallani cheated, we contacted him and gave him a chance to appeal, which he chose not to pursue.

The good news is that we were able to swiftly handle the situation and update the final medal standings, and impose sanctions on Mr. Abhishek Chhallani for violating our terms and conditions, which prohibit the use of Artificial Intelligence during tournament play.

The Mind Sports Olympiad has a hard-earned reputation for fairness and integrity at the highest level. Outside assistance will not be tolerated and we feel that the evidence before us indicates that this is a particularly egregious instance justifying both sanction and the publication of those sanctions. The Mind Sports Olympiad has imposed the following sanctions on Mr. Abhishek Chhallani:

* Disqualification without prize from the MSO Crazyhouse Swiss Tournament
* Immediate disqualification for all events that he participated in in the Mind Sports Olympiad tournament for 2021
* A prohibition from registering for and competing in all Mind Sports Olympiad events from now until December 31, 2030.

Although cheating is rare, we will always do our best to catch it and ensure that all tournaments at the Mind Sports Olympiad maintain the highest standards of honest competition.

Sincerely,
The MSO Committee
