The 3x3 One-Handed event is a thrilling twist on the classic 3x3 Cube event. As the name suggests, participants must solve the cube using only one hand, adding an extra level of difficulty to the event. Competitors must demonstrate their agility, coordination, and mastery of one-handed techniques to achieve the fastest solving times. The World Records for this event stand at 6.20 seconds for the single and 8.09 seconds for average!
Each player will be asked to solve the cube five times, with times recorded to two decimal places and a players score being the average of their middle three times (ie the fastest and the slowest are ignored). If this average is tied between two competitors, the competitor with the best single places above the other. Once all players have posted their score the top 10 will contest the final. The format is the same as for the initial rounds except that the scrambles will be the same for each player to ensure a level playing field.
The maximum time allowed per solve is 3 minutes.
This event is being run by the UK Cube Association (UKCA) and is in compliance with World Cubing Association (WCA) regulations.
