Hyper is a variant of Backgammon which has just three pieces for each player. The pieces begin the game with one piece on each of the three most distant points of the board (the 22-point, the 23-point and the 24-point). Full rules can be seen here.
Tournament Format
Time Control – Bronstein timing - 3 mins per player + 12 secs per move.
Rounds – 6 round Swiss where the winner of each round is the first to win 3 points (a doubling die is used).
Rule set – Crawford and Jacoby Rules are used.

All matches played as part of Mind Sports Olympiad tournaments will contribute to individual players’ UKBGF ratings. Non-results, such as walk-overs, are excluded, as are side-matches that are not part of the scheduled set of matches.
