As seen on ESPN and developed from the sets used in Diving Chess World Championship play, the Diving Chess Set brings the challenge of chess beneath the surface.

Created in collaboration with award-winning designer Sebastian Conran, the set features a folding board and magnetised pieces designed to help keep the position stable during underwater play. The design is protected as UK Registered Design No. 6459239.

This is an opportunity to own one of the earliest commercially available Diving Chess Sets and to become part of the sport’s continuing development.

Each set is supplied as a pre-production prototype while research, testing and development continue. It is intended for underwater play, but it is not a finished mass-market product. Materials, components, dimensions, finish and performance may vary between sets and may be refined in future versions. Minor cosmetic or functional variations should therefore be expected.

The board measures approximately 38 × 48 × 2.5 cm when unfolded and 38 × 24 × 5 cm when folded. It weighs approximately 2 kg, with the pieces adding approximately 1 kg.

Important Safety Information

Diving Chess involves underwater submersion and breath-holding, both of which carry a risk of loss of consciousness, serious injury and drowning.

This product is not a toy and is intended for use by competent adult swimmers only. Never play alone. Use only in a properly managed swimming pool, with the pool operator’s permission and under the direct supervision of a qualified lifeguard or appropriately trained safety professional.

Follow all pool rules and inspect the board and pieces before every use. Do not use the set if any component is damaged or if any magnet becomes loose, exposed or detached.

Contains small components and strong magnets. Swallowed magnets can cause serious injury. Keep the set and all components away from children.
