Castles of Burgundy

Description

The game is set in the Burgundy region of High Medieval France. Each player takes on the role of an aristocrat, originally controlling a small princedom. While playing they aim to build settlements and powerful castles, practice trade along the river, exploit silver mines, and use the knowledge of travellers. The game is about players taking settlement tiles from the game board and placing them into their princedom which is represented by the player board. Every tile has a function that starts when the tile is placed in the princedom. The princedom itself consists of several regions, each of which demands its own type of settlement tile.

Tournament Specific Rules
– Yellow tile 6 shall be played using the updated special edition (2023) rules –“Once per turn, you may spend 2 worker tokens to immediately take a building (beige) tile from any of the six depots on the game board (except the central black depot) and place it on an empty key space in the bottom right of your player board.”
– Players all use the same board in a game, with an attempt made to ensure players are playing on different boards throughout the tournament (subject to practicalities)
