We’re delighted to announce that this year’s Diving Chess World Championship will take place at Leonardo Royal Hotel, London Tower Bridge, 45 Prescot Street E1 8GP starting at 9 pm on Sunday 13th August. We expect the event to finish by 1 am. The pool at Leonardo Royal Hotel has a depth of 1.2m. No weights will be allowed for this year’s World Championship. Must be 18 or over to participate.

Players need to make a move while they are underwater and before they come up.

Emerging without making a move results in a warning providing there is a legitimate excuse. The second time, it's a forfeit.
 
You have to go under water as soon as your opponent comes out of the water.
 
No touch move rule.
 
Removed pieces must be placed on the side of the board.
 
Swiss system with tie-breaker to be announced before the tournament commences.
 
Players can not use weights to help them stay underwater. Nor can they hold on to the side of the pool or any fixtures when they are underwater.
